Hi loves,
So, we’ve never wanted Her Thirties to become another place telling women about more things they need to buy, book or become.
But there’s another side to that.
Over the last two years, we’ve found therapists we’d send our friends to, products we’ve consistently repurchased over and oveer, places worth getting on a plane for, and things we genuinely think are worth knowing about. And increasingly, you’ve been asking us to share them.
So, we are.
Consider Worth Knowing our weekly edit of the things we’d actually put in the group chat.
First up, Marrakech.
STAY
The Mellah Hotel
Honestly, one of those hotels you start recommending before you’ve even checked out. Everything was beautiful, from the art and interiors to the food, the smell and the atmosphere, but it was the people who made it really special. We were looked after with so much warmth from the minute we arrived that it felt less like staying at a hotel and more like being somewhere people were genuinely happy to have you. Stunning from start to finish. We genuinely didn’t want to leave.
HAMMAM
Royal Mansour
For the ridiculously luxurious afternoon. Book the hammam, stay afterwards and don’t plan anything you need to rush to.
SUNSET
DarDar
Go before the sun goes down. We went for dinner and ended up watching the whole rooftop sing and clap as the sun disappeared. One of our favourite moments of the trip.
DINNER
La Trattoria
Italian food in Marrakech. We know. Go anyway. Dinner around the pool, candlelight everywhere. Wear the nice dress.
WORTH KNOWING ABOUT
Sahbi Sahbi
In Morocco, recipes have traditionally been passed through generations by women known as dadas. Sahbi Sahbi brings that knowledge out from behind the kitchen doors, putting the women, their cooking and the traditions they’ve carried at the centre of the restaurant. Come for the food, but know the women and the story behind it too.
FOR A PROPER NIGHT OUT
Safran by Kôya
The one for when dinner turning into dancing sounds exactly like what you want. Don’t book anything early the next morning.
And perhaps our most important recommendation: leave some of it unplanned.
Some of our favourite hours involved sunshine, massages, nowhere to be and deciding that getting dressed to leave the hotel sounded like far too much effort.
Turns out we’re very good at recommendations. We’re also very good at cancelling our own plans!
And if you end up trying any of these, or there’s somewhere we need to know about, DM us or reply to this email. We’d genuinely love to hear about your experience.
Love,
Abbey & Bianca x
P.S. We’ve put the full Marrakech edit on Instagram if you want something to save for the group chat here.
